the problem with RI

More news on the newly elected Secretary of State’s stepson. He was also found with a bag of dope but, because of his dad, the police negotiated a deal on the spot. If the driver take blame (and not implicate the mayor’s son) they will reduce the charge. Wow, a double-wammy for the RI public. So that’s three incidents buried by the police department in the weeks before the election. Nice.

Of course, the police again “couldn’t do anything” because RI law allows for the consumption of marijuana.

(ProJo 1/9/07) “One of the officers in charge at the station that night, Sgt. Timothy C. Magill Jr., said that Piscione was not charged with smoking marijuana because the evidence was gone — while it is illegal to possess marijuana, there is no explicit law against consumption.”

RI allows prostitution, as long as it is done inside any building and not in public. Hence the massage parlors with “illegals” and why “private” dances are so popular at our strip clubs.

RI law allows you to take land from your neighbor if you pretend to own it for at least 10 years. This happens every year because people are paying hundreds of thousands for houses but not having the property surveyed before closing.

At least everyone can share in the wealth of strip clubs as a taxpayer in this state.
