Custom Sleeves
My brother and I were able to get a good number of sleeves pressed this weekend with the Print Gocco machine. Thankfully, he had worked out the kinks of creating the screens and we were able to concentrate on pressing the sleeves. We took care of the lion on Saturday and the band name on Sunday.
Here’s a few Color Combinations we ended up printing and one of the better Sleeves that will be part of the special set we created. Lastly, here is the entire run of finished sleeves. The raised printed and foil stamped versions (which will be numbered) are due mid-week and the cd’s are due the week after.
However, our pre-order page is just about ready and should go live tomorrow.

Sunn O))) limited vinyl
Southern Lord Records just added the highly anticipated Sunn O))) “Black One” (even pitchfork gave it a 8.7) on limited vinyl. There are five different colors of 1K each and posters are included with mailorder. Of course, to keep it interesting there are 4 other colors available from retail stores.
Don’t wait, this will sell out.
Still think slow pitch softball is a kids game. Check out this new bat. It’s titanium composite and actually legal in some recreation leagues. These manufacturers must be begging to get a pitcher killed before they tone it down a little. So much for practicing to get better, just buy a $450 bat and even a hack like you can compete with me.

Where I've Been
After struggling to come up with something to promote the new Staggering Statistics EP (scheduled for release in two weeks) I have settled on something pretty cool. Racking my head trying to come up with a limited, counter display isn’t easy, but here it is:
SS Limited Promo Box
Now, you’re probably saying “what is it?” Well, it’s a super, limited promo matchbox that holds multiple copies of the new SS matchbook. Still sound confusing, well keep reading.
Using multiple copies of old LP jackets for the covers and drawers proved too good to resist. Here’s a sample of the covers fully constructed and each will be original, hand-decorated by me. The drawers are very cool and range from Bobby Orr to The Cowsills.
There are only 20 and a few will be going to the band and other special friends. We will be selling a dozen directly with at least six different versions of the new artwork plus other, secret items stuffed in. Keep looking here for more info on the super, limited BUY NOW button.
Any comments can be directed to: maccadd@aol.com

It’s getting closer to reality and check out the updated MySpace for the band on 75orLess Records first release, Staggering Statistics. New songs from the LP coming out in April are posted. All the artwork is done and printing has begun on the EP, Pixelated Ones & Zeros. Pre-orders will be starting soon and anticipated release date of 1/31.

Tell me you got one
If you took my advice on Oct. 11th and pre-ordered one of the 400 limited signed Dead Can Dance LP’s you should thank me. Don’t feel bad, I also missed out because I spent my money elsewhere. Although I did pick up one of the limited Chicago Live Disks before they sold out.

new music
Here are a couple Of Montreal video’s courtesy of Polyvinyl. After using the link, go to the Video/Audio section and download or stream. Remember this is a DIY band so there are no million dollar budget videos.
The first is "Requiem for O.M.M.2" and to me represents the essence of the band. This is the song that will make or break you. Give it a listen or two before dismissing it.
The second is "Wraith Pinned to the Mist and Other Games". Enjoy. If that catches your attention there are two others if you scroll down. And if you have any free time, check out some of the other video. I promise they won’t hurt.
CRIP, this will be our next road trip. They are coming March 5th to Boston and I have the tickets. Although MSwift said they “sound too much like the Beatles” and doesn’t want to invest any time, all others are welcome to come along.

Do you have one?
Here’s a great “only in RI” story in today’s Projo.
This is impossible to make up.

Voodoo doll, tempers stun residents at council meeting
FOSTER, RI -- "This is the kind of hostile environment we are working in," Town Clerk Ann Irons said, brandishing a voodoo doll, as she stood up in front of the Town Council and residents at last night's meeting.
Irons -- during a debate over who should evaluate the job performance of Town Treasurer Jonathan E. Mitchell -- said she had found the doll on the Public Works Director Richard Grant's desk.
Members of the audience gasped and yelled and Town Council President Heidi Rogers banged her gavel trying to restore order. But Irons continued and said that a large A for Anne and J for Jonathan had been inscribed on the front and back of the doll, which she said Grant was using to intimidate her and the treasurer.
Before the meeting began, another resident Paul Lagerstrom said: "I get depressed coming to these meetings. What I feel bad about is that I voted for these people."
Richard Grant (the doll owner) said Irons is mistaken about the meaning of the letters on the doll. He said the A is for his wife, Ann and the J is for his “friend named Joe.”

getting beer cold
I’m hoping for a better 2006 for everyone. Lots of topics to try and cover in this delayed post.
Our friends at Tiny Showcase still have a great print by Ron Rege Jr. and Catbird Records has their forth release available. Recently I have been advising in getting a copy of Sublime’s “40 oz. To Freedom” on vinyl and another version has appeared, a Glow-In-The-Dark version in a pressing of 1000. A little pricy at close to $40, but essential for Sublime fans.
With this contest entry you have a chance at a new $1Million dollar house in Wyoming. It’s completely free by entering your name, address and e-mail and you can enter once a day until February 17th. Last year there were 36 million entries but I think that’s better than any lottery. Keep in mind you will need and estimated 650K to actually live in the house and of the past 11 winners, 9 have sold immediately.
A Mythbusters worth talking about. Simple premise: How fast can you get a room temperature (62 degrees) six-pack of beer cold enough (32 degrees) to drink?
Simple answers:
Refrigerator – 45+ minutes
Ice in Styrofoam cooler – 40 minutes
Freezer – 30 minutes
Ice + water + iodized salt in Styrofoam cooler– 5 minutes.!!!
Fire Extinguisher – 3 minutes
So, if you are in a hurry to get your beverage cold, get some salt. Amazing.
