Rarest of the rare
This may be the rarest Nirvana 7' single ever. A Sub Pop’s 7' Test Press for the first release in the Singles Club (and Holy Grail of vinyl collecting) Love Buzz b/w Big Cheese. Probably one of only a dozen and the bidding is already at 3K.

of Montreal - An Epistle To A Pathological Creep
A little off topic today. While rummaging thru the end of another OM album I heard two fabulous songs that were throw-ins for the Japan pressing. Normally I would just enjoy and move on, but the lyrics summed up some frustrations so (for my benefit) here they are:
He'd explain to you but it would take too long
Why he is right and everybody else is wrong
He'd endeavor friend to make your mind correct
He'd try but he thinks it would take too long too long
It's probably simple math that keeps him on his elevated path
While talking to him it is very rare to sense that he's acknowledging you're even there
Or else he'll speak as if you should be taking notes
But fears that you might steal one of his brilliant quotes
There's no idea that you could add that he wouldn't claim to have already had
He used to be a really decent guy before his insecurities enslaved him
Now his ego seems to be raging uncontrollably
Destroying every friendship that he's ever had
I don't even like to think about him it's so very sad
Only a boy of three would dare act so egregiously
Now the kind of places he's most often found
Are rife with pedants running topics into the ground
And the company that he is known to keep
Are all self important bores that put you right to sleep
Yes I'd rather be hung than hear them discussing Carl Jung

the end is near
Boy, this Global Cooling is really starting to get me nervous. Continuous days turn to weeks and the temperatures can’t stay in the 60’s. Anyone who thinks the earth will be destroyed by humans in five years deserves to have the government pay for their meds.
Finally, some new items worth buying. American Laundromat Records has a Pixies pre-order worth looking at that includes a free 7' single. Robert Pollard’s side project, The Takeovers, new LP is available at Off Records and limited to 450 vinyl copies.
Pre-order the White Stripes new cd, Icky Thump, at Insound and get a free 7' picture disk.
Is anyone surprised that a Kennedy-Chavez is trying to dissolve America? Besides granting amnesty to crimaliens, pushing the government for more mental drugs and doing everything in their power to surrender to the terrorists. What are these socialist Senators smiling about?
And don’t forget the House Speaker. “[W]e promised the American people that we would have the most honest and most open government and we will.” (Nancy Pelosi press stakeout, December 6, 2006) Well, not really. After losing a string of embarrassing votes on the House floor because of procedural maneuvering, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has decided to change the current House Rules to completely shut down the floor to the minority. This would be the first change to the germaneness rule since 1822.
