rockumentary

I was able to catch a VH1 special called "The Return of Courntey Love" and it was equally entertaining and disgusting.    It’s a documentary by Martin Brashur (the guy who did the MJackson kid special) and she is completely honest answering many difficult questions about Kurt, drugs and herself.    Apparently she had a relapse, after a 10-year hiatus from heroin, in 2005 and this 1-hour show follows her trying to make a last ditch comeback album after going to rehab.

One of more shocking portions was her trying to reconcile with 14-year old daughter, Frances Bean, on camera.!!!    She lost all respect for her Mom when she fell off the wagon and their relationship in nothing what it used to be.   Very sad and who knows what direction this kid will go.   But I have no sympathy for CLove, I say “let her rot and suffer” for all the pain she has caused to countless friends and enemies.   When you see her in the studio trying to impersonate her late, rockstar-god husband the same feeling returns.

The Velvet Underground Acetate LP was re-listed on ebay and recently ended with a price of 25K.   Not bad for a $1 purchase.

Merry Christmas.

more ideas

Smart shoppers will grab the OOP Japan version of Altar from All That's Heavy.    Also go to The Muldoons site and sign up to get one of the super-limited Christmas Singles.   Sub Pop has setup a pretty good pre-order for The Shins next LP.   Important Records has a very limited LP from Ocean available on limited color vinyl.    Southern Lord has the new Leviathon LP “The Blind Wound” and limited to 500 copies.

The bidding for the Velvet Underground acetate is now over 155K.   See link below.

how much?

A yard sale find LP is up on ebay and currently over 100K.   The one-of-a-kind acetate pressing is from an alternative pressing of The Velvet Underground & Nico in 1966 and has been thoroughly researched over the last couple of years.

By hanging around The White Stripes message board I was able to snag a copy of the OOP Aluminum vinyl LP for cost.
