new mitt

Recently I saw a really cool glove being offered on The Old Scout with an advertised delivered price of $95.   After much delay, but upgrades including extra padding and my number stitched in, it finally arrived.   I’m very happy with the feel and 14” size while driving my wife crazy trying to quickly break it in.

After getting my rough electrical done, and taking the summer off, it’s back to the porch.    This weekend I hope to install the wood ceiling, powerwash the deck and get ready for painting by next weekend.     Also took the time to completely butcher the tree between the evergreens by cutting it in half and regained a pretty good western view.

Here is the Of Montreal Outback commercial mentioned in a previous post.    LOST fans, there was an on-line game to pass the time between seasons called Lost Experience.  No spoilers, but information and background that will keep you busy for hours.  If you have any questions, start there.   For a shortcut to reveal many secrets about the island just view this 6 minute clip.

Is there any difference between our American left-wing bloggers / liberal Democrats and Pigmy Chavez?   He mimicked every sentiment the top dems have thrown at our President and then gave him a standing ovation.   This power hungry leader (who also blames his problems on everyone else) is what the dems consider good leadership.   Buyer beware while voting this November.

still sounding fresh

Capitol is releasing a 40th anniversary edition of The Beach Boys “Pet Sounds” with both mono and stereo versions and bonus dvd.   It was given a 9.4 by Pitchfork.     This is essential listening and unleashed the entire Elephant 6 Collaborative in the early 90’s.    One of the bands, Of Montreal has also released a great song from their upcoming LP called She's A Rejector.   Check it out.

Nice article on a mansion being remodeled down the street from us.

oh for two

Buchanan Softball stood tall but went down with a wimper in the deciding game 5 last night to league monster, A1.  Trailing 8-7 in the top of the seventh, with the top of the order batting, they could not scratch across the tying run in scoring position and fell short of the championship.

Game 4 was just as exciting as we somehow wiggled out of a bases-loaded, one out jamb in the top of the 7th then got two doubles to win the game 11-10 in the bottom of the inning.  The team simply fell short because we didn’t hit enough, but stood toe-to-toe with them all night waiting for a breakout inning that never happened.    Stats will be posted shortly.   Hopefully reinforcements next year will help.

Sad to see WOXY, one of the pioneers in internet radio go down.

falling leaves

The trip to VA for the ASA’s turned into a long weekend and not much hitting.   The team just didn’t have it and folded up like a tent.    Very disappointing.    One of the more interesting things we noticed was the dropping of gas prices the more we drove south.   It bottomed out at $2.37 over Labor Day weekend.

However I have figured out YouTube and my first video is my friend CRipley’s last at bat from last October.

The RI primary’s are less than one week away and, in this state, unaffiliated voters can choose the party election to vote in that day and make a difference.    Earlier I mentioned trying to “save” Linc Chaffee but after seeing the debates my vote is now up in the air.    Ann Coulter has taken the time to dissect the situation.

Today our daughter started her first day of pre-school and (if weather permits) we can finally finish up the Bristol Softball League finals.    We need to sweep a double-header against the top team to enjoy the beer a little more.
