liberal lollypops

“I don't care what liberals think. I don't care that they're spineless suck-ups. Just don't insult my intelligence by telling me they're brave.”  Thank you Ann, I’m not alone in this thinking. full opinion here.

Merrimack

Quite a long day this past Saturday in New Hampshire.   We traveled North to play in a 9-team C NIT that had some of the best teams in New England.   After losing the first game, we started to hit and began knocking teams out one-by-one.   The first game of the finals was entertaining, as we had the undefeated team on the ropes, and spotted 9 in the top of the first in the “if” game.  But ran out of steam and eventually lost by 5 with a homer in the bank.

I pitched even though it’s not on the top of my “to do” list for the weekend tournaments, but the team is stacked and should get better thru the summer.   So left the house at 7am, played 7 games, got off the field at 9pm and traveled the 90 minutes home in another satisfying day of softball.

Moving Along

Great progress on the porch over the weekend.   I finished the walls with red cedar shingles, thanks to VinnyS who donated a half-box of shingles.   Then laid out the colorful trex in a fabulous diamond pattern.    Even though the decking still needs to be screwed down and I cut it a little too close while ending up one 20’ length short, I am very happy with the result.    Next is the screens, stay tuned.

A follow-up for the smart people that purchased the recommended Cass Records singles I mentioned back on 4/28.   Nice.

The Definition

Patrick Kennedy is pathetic.    This liberal hero lies and spins more than his father, white-noise socialistic Ted Kennedy, and has become another "victim" in our special interest state. The press has gone into overdrive to protect this "I have never worked a day in my life" drug addict congressman.   He will probably have to kill someone to lose a vote even though his family addictions to drug and alcohol didn’t fall far from the tree.   When Michael Savage talks about red diaper doper babies destroying this country, Patrick is today’s poster boy.

One Less Good Thing

If there’s one music item I’ve always recommended but now is very ordinary it’s DIW Magazine.    This was one of the most coveted subscriptions to have, arriving every three months when it included the 7” single, but now is just an ordinary music magazine.    About a year ago it was sold and has been down hill every since.   The new owners tried to convince subscribers to spend an extra 6.66 for limited cd’s every two months but after 2 cd’s no one will talk about it or return any e-mails.    What a shame.

Season Opener

Quite a weekend of softball as I competed in nine different games over opening weekend.   Saturday started with a win over my former team, Fat Chops, and ended by getting spanked by our local competitor, Harkin.   We ended up playing four games and will be battling both of the teams all season.

On Sunday we started with a win over Harkin but then lost two close games as my terrible error in the last game sent us home from the tourney.    Then I headed to Bristol to find the games running 2 hours behind schedule, so after 2 swings drove over the bridge to Barrington and closed out the night with an extra inning loss.

Incredible at bat and home run by Big Papi last night, especially because it was against former Sox lefty Mike Myers who NY signed to specifically get Ortiz out.   The man is money and I’m sure Gay-rod would give his right arm for just one clutch hit.    Other interesting items:  Bronson Arroyo is now 5-0 for the Reds;  Miguel Tejada already has 44 hits;  Nomar hit a game winning Grand Slam last week;   Edgar Renteria has a 16 game hitting streak;

Bottom line regarding yesterday is that changing the law, that many generations of immigrants have lived by, is wrong and amnesty is not an option.   The Providence “rally for illegals” was put together by organized labor hoping for a chance to get their fingers on money they can’t touch right now.     Of course The Taliban Times (where all terrorists go for America’s secrets) had a different take and want to convince the uninformed that a majority of the country wants to change the law.
