Pixies on PBS

The other night while channel surfing I hit upon The Pixies live on Austin City Limits.    Now even though we traveled up to Lowell to catch them last year, it was great to see it on TV.    Frank Black sounds absolutely fantastic, and can get the belly yell perfect, just like when we saw them in Nov. 1991 at the Rocky Point Palladium.

One of the more interesting moments was during the credits when they interviewed the band before the show.    Asked about their strangest moments of being in the reunited band, Kim Deal mentioned the CNN ticker listing that the band had gotten back together.    Dave Lovering stated that he was blow away when he found out NASA used “Where is My Mind” to wake up the Mars Rover recently.

Don’t forget to enter the HGTV contest  for a chance at a $1M house in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina.   It’s absolutely free to enter, and you can fill out a ticket every day, but the contest ends Feb. 17th.
